VSI HL7

In many medical IT networks, patient-related data is exchanged between hospital IT systems on the basis of messages in line with the Health Level 7 specification (HL7). HL7 is consequently not software, as is often assumed, but a description of the arrangement and structure of types of message for transmitting certain information. The HL7 Option Pack provides a convenient interface for the VSI systems oneTouch, foreSight and managerServer to allow direct data exchange and communication with hospital information systems. The HL7 Option Pack provides the necessary tools and mechanisms for individual adaptations to the HL7 interface to design its configuration to be simple, efficient and clear. This significantly accelerates integration processes.

HL7 messages are primarily used to communicate tasks and data related to administration between the systems involved. This includes, among other things, requests for procedures and transfer of invoice codes, but also the archiving of findings and, depending on the power of the hospital information system, multimedia content such as images and videos.
